On this day, after savouring a delightful breakfast at your hotel, we head over to a unique Melburnian experience – a ride on the Puffing Billy Railway - Australia’s premier preserved steam train.
Victoria is known for its passion for good food and wine. Later in the day, smell, swirl, and sip the region’s fine wines with a winery tour where you get to see for yourself the craft of winemaking and meet makers, growers, chefs, and winemakers at work.
We also visit Phillip Island nearly 125 km southeast of Melbourne. Along this dramatic coastline live many exotic birds and animals including koalas, fur seals, and wallabies. At sunset, watch the amazing natural Penguin Parade in which little penguins waddle in from the ocean to reach their burrows.
It’s the day for a drive! On the third day of the tour, we explore the Great Ocean Road after eating breakfast at the hotel.
The 240-km stretch of coastal road that we explore on day three is steeped in history, beauty, and adventure. Dedicated to soldiers killed in World War I, this road is the also the world’s largest war memorial. It runs past pristine beaches, green rainforests, lively surfing spots, high cliffs, museums, and galleries, and there are enough spots for gourmet food and heady wines. The Twelve Apostles limestone formations, Great Otway National Park, and Torquay – be ready for a whirl of experiences.
If you are in the mood to shop, you may also like to pick up fresh produce, artisanal food, and local crafts along the way.
On this day, surrender to the urban charms of Melbourne. In this second-largest city in Australia, you can see some of Australia's best-known landmarks, such as the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the National Gallery of Victoria, and the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building. Our super-friendly, expert team will ensure that you get to enjoy all these and more in this day’s Melbourne city tour.
